About Me
Hi. I’m Janine. I'm a curious little primate who loves snuggling. I’m introverted but deeply motivated by connection, which can sometimes be a paradox I struggle to manage. I can often be found curled up with friends, or my cat. I’ve also ridden and loved horses since childhood, and while I no longer own my own horses, I do continue to have equine companions in my life, and my relationship with horses has been deeply influential in how I experience and interact with the world.
I love moving my body–my current favorite practices are Authentic Movement and Contact Improvisation both of which I have been engaged in for close to a decade.
I love learning, so I can also often be found curled up with a book or my computer in my search to understand How Things Work™. I follow my curiosity as much in my work life as my personal life, so each time I find a new growth edge in either it informs both. My practitioner style is born from this integration and means that when I work with you I come from a place of intellectual study, lived experience, and joyful (and sometimes messy) practice.
There’s no magic bullet to fix whatever is causing you to seek support, and I want to set the reasonable expectation that our work together will unfold over time as you gain awareness of your patterns and the skills to interrupt those patterns on your own. The magic of healing is not in the tools themselves, it is in the practice of them, and in the building of the therapeutic relationship.
